The Canadian Government sponsored a series of events in towns along the border across the country as an opportunity for Canadian and US community leaders to celebrate the strong relationship across the border and to discuss opportunities for increasing collaboration called “Meet me at the Border”.
The Canadian Consulate out of Minneapolis hired Leschinski Design to photograph the events in the border towns of Fort Frances Ontario Canada and International Falls Minnesota USA separated by the Rainy River a major port of entry for the two countries, strategically located in the heart of North America. The events included dragon boat races, a tug of war across the Rainy River, and a BBQ at Smokey Bear Park. The photos will be used for a commemorative book on the unique friendships border communities across the country enjoy and depend upon.
