I’ve been working closely with David Dimitrie of the Kipps Lane Community Association helping him develop a plan to update and modernize the organization’s presence online. The KLCA was formed as the Kipps Lane Tenants Association in 2004 following a tribunal hearing dealing with an rent increase. Since then it has tackled a variety of community issues and in 2007 transitioned from a tenants group to a community group.

The proposed site would focus on being more consistent, and easier to use as well as utilize a content management system to structure information more efficiently and provide the ability make publishing updates effortless. Additional focus will go into adding more community features to draw community members into participating in the organization through a calender of events, networking, classifieds, and the ability for users to comment on news items and even submit their own news and events. The increased user activity will aid in disseminating information about the area, encouraging community spirit, and aiding the organization come to the city more prepared and organized.
